Services - Design Process

Initial consultation and site visit: To discuss your ideas for your garden and to assess the site. Following this meeting a written brief including a design fee estimate is provided. This initial visit is free.

Site survey: This is the starting point, measuring up the site and taking account of the house, any features which are to remain, boundaries, access, aspect, soil type and condition, level changes and the presence of visible utilities. Photographs are taken to supplement this information. For larger or more complex sites topographical surveyors may be used.

Concept Plan: The proposed design solution to the brief accompanied by a cost estimate for the work to be undertaken. Aspects of the design are illustrated with photos. Sketches and mood boards may also be produced. Samples can be provided, or visits to other completed gardens to view materials, features and the quality of the build, can be arranged.

Presentation Plan: The final detailed plan showing the garden as it is to be built. The presentation drawing is hand drawn to scale and provides all the detail about the new garden. Two copies are provided in a presentation case, one hand coloured in pastels. A building specification or schedule, construction drawings of specific features and planting plans, can be provided where required.
